Note from Sue

Lazy Hazy Days of August you say?? As the summer winds down (for you folks in the Northern hemisphere), this is a perfect time to ponder ways that you plan to step up your game. After all, most people will be taking at least one long weekend of “blue sky time”. This newsletter offers a treasure trove of resources to support your reflection.

Check out the Quick links to find:

1. Stepping Up Your Own Game of Life: A link to a fabulous new internet movie by my colleague, the infamous Michael Bungay Stanier, The 5.75 Questions You've Been Avoiding.

2. Stepping Up Your Personal Foundation: My Associate, Patricia Muir, has established a fantastic 90-Day Personal Quality Branding Program to support you in building a strong personal foundation that reflects true quality assurance both at work and at home.

3. Stepping Up Your Leadership: Order your copy of Awakening the Workplace 2, and read my chapter, “You Gotta’ Flip It On Its Head!: Four Key Strategies for Leadership Success”, plus 14 other inspiring chapters, including Patricia Muir’s “Develop Your Own Personal Quality System”.

Finally, check out the Feature article to support you in…

4. Stepping Up To Your Promotion: Read Sue’s article Letting Go of What Got You Here. Sue’s expertise in onboarding applies not only to ramping up successfully in a new organization but also to ways to thrive after promotion to a significantly higher level of leadership. This article deals with one of the most important factors determining success or derailment in a higher level role.

For me, one of the ways I’m stepping up my own coaching game is by going through the credentialing process with the International Coach Federation for the designation of PCC (Professional Certified Coach) this September. Some of you will recall me achieving the first level of accreditation (ACC) last fall. Stay tuned (and cross your toes for me!)

I’d love to hear about your plans for stepping up!
